Lv Foundation Resumes Community Grants

Foundation: Santa Fe Community Foundation

Last year, New Mexico's Las Vegas New Mexico Community Foundation awarded $5,000 grants to 13 nonprofit organizations for community projects in Mora and San Miguel counties.

This year, the foundation is offering its largest-ever opportunity for nonprofits to apply for grants, up to $10,000, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

"These grants are a return to the Foundation's annual grant cycle after a year of devoting all of our fundraising and granting to wildfire and flood relief," Elmo Baca, chair of the foundation, says in a press release.

Since last year's fires, the foundation has distributed nearly two-thirds of a million dollars in grants for emergency relief and long-term recovery.

Grants are offered in the categories of agriculture and environmental sustainability, arts and culture, education, health and wellness, historic preservation, and community development.
